TÜV Austria Certification Granted

We are proud to announce that Bioplasmar has been granted the prestigious TÜV Austria certification for full biodegradability in soil. This recognition places us among only four companies worldwide to receive this milestone, underscoring our dedication to sustainability and innovation.

Our certified planters biodegrade entirely in soil, eliminating plastic waste while enriching the soil with nutrients, promoting healthier plant growth, and reducing environmental impact.

We are thankful to TÜV Austria for recognizing our commitment to sustainable solutions for a better future.

A European “Green Deal” against Global Warming

Europe is introducing a green pact with the goal of becoming the first carbon-neutral nation by 2050.

“This pact will reduce emissions while creating jobs and improving our quality of life. It is the green thread that will run through all our policies – from transportation to taxation, from food to agriculture, from industry to infrastructure.

We want to invest in clean energy and expand the emissions trading system, but also strengthen the circular economy and preserve Europe’s biodiversity,” confirms Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.

Bioplasmar: Successful test of the co-plantable pot with Primula vulgaris

In the trial year 2023/2024, initial experience was gained at the LVG Hannover-Ahlem with the new co-plantable pot “Bioplasmar”. The publication on hortigate.de reports on the results of this test.

The 10.5 cm pot used consists of washed, dried green waste compost and is suitable for cultures lasting up to six months. The pot is both home-compostable and fully biodegradable. After 20 weeks, the primroses in the Bioplasmar pot reached similar sizes and qualities to those in the conventional black plastic Teku MXC pot.

However, the difference in root development was striking: while the primroses in the plastic pot showed the usual good root mass, the plants in the Bioplasmar pot had less root mass. These results correspond to previous experience with other co-plantable pots.

At the end of the trial period, October 2023 to March 2024, the Bioplasmar pots were still largely stable. Around 25 % of the plants showed cracks at the bottom of the pots, but these should not affect the marketability of the plants.
